“The Mantle,” intended to be published quarterly by Temple Baptist Seminary, ran from 1985 through at least 1989 as a means of providing regular communications and helpful articles to friends and alumni of the institution.  In the Introductory Editorial to “The Mantle,” Dr. James D. Price wrote, “The name is taken from the prophet’s mantle used as a sign of God’s call (1 Kings 19:19) and passed on by a prophet to his successor (2 Kings 2:14).”  Each issue contained “. . . one or more articles designed to be of interest and help to pastors and laymen.”  News about Seminary events, featured graduates, faculty articles and itineraries, and occasional book reviews, as space allowed, graced the pages of each issue.  Previous issues of The Mantle have been scanned electronically and are available for your enjoyment, reminiscing, and edification by simply clicking on the web site links below.
